In the past years, several changes have been made to Canada's Caregiver Program (formerly Live-in Caregiver Program). For many caregivers, these changes have resulted in confusion or complications in their employment or securing their papers/status in Canada. At the same time, problems related to the program continue to exist, such as prolonged separation of caregivers from their families and uncertainty about their future.
GABRIELA-Ontario invites caregivers and others who are interested in learning more about this issue, to a discussion. Presenters who will share info include:
Mithi Esguerra - GABRIELA-Ontario
Martha Ocampo - Caregiver Connections Education and Support Organization
Dr. Jessica Ticar, PhD - Youth & Family Counsellor
and Atty. Maria Deanna P. Santos - Filipino-Canadian Immigration Lawyer
