​Sixty years of exploitation. Sixty years of resistance.
On March 31, 1966, Canada created the Seasonal Agricultural Workers Program - a legal leash binding migrant workers to a single employer. For 60 years since, migrants have built, fed, and cared for communities across Canada while being excluded from rights and separated from family. For 60 years, migrants have resisted.
Today we're launching a timeline of that struggle - the policies that built this system, and the people who fought back and won. Today we insist: migrants are the solutions.
